The "DUPLICATE" variant of the famous word game consists of placing the word that yields the highest number of points on each turn.
The player competes against a program that knows the solution that provides the most points. This solution is placed on the game board for the next round.
The game offers 500 pre-set GAMES, including 50 "joker" games (numbers 451 to 500, refer to the rules in the help section).
You can also opt for a "free" game, with random draws at each turn. This is known as a "luck of the draw" game.
Starting from version V4.0, original games 7 out of 8, 7 and 8, joker, 7 out of 8 joker, and 7 and 8 joker are available. These are also considered "free" games.
The program calculates points and verifies their existence in the dictionary.
The dictionary contains words from ODS8 (all or almost all?).
The game board on smartphones and small tablets can be zoomed in and is scrollable.
You can select the game number using the +/-1 and +/-10 buttons or choose to play a "free" game that will never be the same.
Start the game by pressing the "Start Game" or "Free Game" button, either simple or original.
On the game board, move letters with your finger.
The "Prepare" button allows you to check the word played, tally points, and enter it for validation if it earns more points than previous preparations. (You have the option to input the word and its position instead of moving the letters.)
Pressing "Validate" suggests a word to place. The program then puts the word at the top of the grid and displays the next set of letters.
The program shows top and sub-top words for each move.
The menu provides assistance with 2 or 3-letter words, as well as high-value letter words. The current draw's letters are highlighted in the help section.
An anagram solver indicates all possible words with your current letters.
The "score" tab shows points for each move. You can review tops and sub-tops for every move.
The remaining letters and history of played pre-set games can be viewed in the remaining tab.
Reflection time can be unlimited or limited to 5 minutes, 3 minutes, 2 minutes, 90 seconds, or 60 seconds.
An option reveals the top score to attain for each move.
The current game can be saved and resumed later, with auto-saving at each turn to pick up where you left off in case of any technical glitches (apologies for this occasional issue).
Free game available in French; no data connection required.
